Aftermarket plastic bumper covers

I have already searched for it on here with no real luck. I see plastic aftermarket number covers on fleabay and the price is attractive. Not interested in a fiberglass cover. Mine needs paint and it's got some tears underneath. Would be less expensive to buy a brand new primed bumper cover than repair the original. $315 shipped for an '04 986 S front cover. Looked up the company (GBC). From Taiwan but they seem legit. Less than 1/2 the cost of an OEM Zender cover. They look spot on in the photos. Anyone have real life experience with one of these? Fitmnet? Quality? Any advise would be appreciated.

I don't have experience with them on a Boxster but have on other cars. Let's sum it up first by saying that I would use them on a 10 year old average car but never on a newer car that needs to be fixed right. They seem to tip toe around copyright or patent infringement by making them appear the same but there are always minor differences. The quality of the piece is not bad but I would not call it any where near a factory spec. I would call it a decent aftermarket piece that fits like a good aftermarket piece that is more than sufficient on an older grocery getter. Having said all that I would use it on an older Porsche like yours but don't expect someone with a keen eye not to notice it.

I have bought two from auto parts warehouse dot com. I used a discount code both times and got them for under $300 shipped each. I was quite happy with both of them. Good fit and materials. If the one that you are looking at is the same as this, I'd say go ahead.

I painted the black one myself and paid too much to have the arctic silver (non-S style) one painted.

I hear they are a little thinner material than the factory bumper cover but I know lots of spec guys who use them and are happy with them. Some spec guys even prefer them over the 97-02 covers and will even switch them out. Those guys believe the 03/04 bumpers funnel in more air into the radiators.

I have been trying to give away a perfectly usable front bumper cover, Oem off my 2000 996 for weeks. No takers around Atlanta. I am hauling it to the dump tomorrow. I am moving and have no place to keep it. I hate throwing it away. It didnt even need painting until it rattled around my basement the last 10 years. Has the typical scratching underneath. Now it has scratches on the face. Anyone around atlanta want it?
