That second photo reminds us why they are called BOXsters... So many sit in garages with boxes piled on top of them.
Here's hoping that puppy sees sunshine again soon!

			Ah, well...
Nothing left to fix on the '01. I get bored easily.
The '04 seems actually pretty solid, just looks like shyte at the moment. It's got 1/3 less mileage, it's 3 years newer, it is NOT a tiptronic!
The tip was fine but I was getting tired of watching the other 986s pull away from me on the straights!
This one needs some TLC, some tires, 2 roof transmission gears (anyone priced these things?? ), an ims upgrade, a detailing job, an alignment, a power steering reservoir, and a desperate need of some fresh oil! Fortunately, I do all of this myself (any Montreal friends looking to get their hands dirty?).
I salvaged some track stuff from my other car: roll bar, oil sump baffle, etc.
It probably sounds worse than it is ( I hope...)
I'll keep you updated.

Not much story really. Picked it up from a used car dealer who had it in his home garage. Apparently it was a trade-in. Originally from Texas, nothing noteworthy on the CarProof. I did the inspection, filter pleats were clean, brakes were at the limit but still okay. No codes, cam deviation within spec. No evidence of aos problems.
I've pulled the cross tubes and cleaned the throttle body, ordered new rubber sleeves and power steering reservoir, filters and all. It should be ready soon if it will ever stop snowing!

Those wheels I picked up from a guy complete with Michelin Pilot Alpins for $500! They are from a 911 C4 I think, the winter set.
I've kept them and I use them for my track tires with 10mm spacers on the front.

So I keep finding little things to fix. One of the wheels was cracked, can't find a replacement so I bought another set. Anyone need a replacement oem 18" Carerra turbo twist? I've got three!
Clicking alternator pulley, small annoying tear in the shifter knob, lazy trunk actuator, annoying whine from belt, leaking windshield washer joint, non-functioning pass seat back adjuster, und so veiter und so veiter...
So I'm not bored anymore!
Got it cleaned up a bit but it still needs a thorough spring cleaning!

Looks like you're making good progress!
Can I ask what wheels are on the old and new Boxster?

Tom, look up a notch, I just answered that. They're Chinese, not expensive but I really like the look! I swapped them over with new P zeros to this car and bought another set of oem twists for my track tires figuring that I trust the oems more for the added stress at the track. I must say I get a lot of comments on those wheels!

The rears are 10", offset 40 which pushes them out and adds a more aggressive stance. I added a 10 mm spacer to the fronts which, if I recall, are 8", but ET 50 which would be the same as Boxster stock. At the moment I have stock Boxster size tires on them which I find a bit narrow (225/40/18 and 265/35/18). I bought these tires for the wheels that were on the car when I bought it (7.5" & 9" rims) but too lateI found out that one wheel was cracked and couldn't find a replacement. My track tires are 235 fronts and 265 rears.
