o2 sensor

whats the deal on o2 sensors, their prices vary considerably.
are the cheap ones as good as the expensive ones?

and which one is #1 bank1

The deal is if you know which ones you're looking for by part number you can find universal Bosch ones on EBay for a reasonable price. My car was throwing codes cause of fuel trim issues and I found a pair for $45. Only caveat was having to cut old connectors and splicing to new sensors. Very easy. No more codes and passed smog. Bank1 driver side US models

I stand corrected Bank1 Pass side, re:911Monty

This is incorrect in any country. Bank #1 is passenger side and bank #2 is driver side. Cylinders 1,2 & 3 are on bank #1. Cylinder 1 is on the right front of the engine.

I had good luck purchasing OEM Bosch sensors, with connector off Amazing. Best pricing I could find with shipping.

Often "O2 sensor" fault codes are simply reporting a mixture problem upstream and the sensors are fine. Run your codes past the illuminati here first before swapping parts out.

what side of the engine diagram here.

O2 sensor part numbers here.

Buy only ones with the wiring pigtails crimped on from the factory. Bosch makes em for Porsche. Porsche reboxes them and marks them up. I used the Bosch ones

will a common bargin basement scanner give me those codes?

brybart 02-28-2017 03:53 PM

Yes I've used a standard OBDII reader to pull codes, But the Durametric system is worth the investment over the long haul.

mikefocke 02-28-2017 04:24 PM

And O2 sensor codes are very specific.

madmac 02-28-2017 04:29 PM

off to buy an obdII scanner.

thanks
