No, they don't. If yours do, then you're probably missing foam on one or more of your diversion flaps.

and I think auto controls the direction of air but if you press that button it specifically diverts most air into the center just make sure your vents are open, close the middle to get more on the sides.

"Auto" is for automatic temperature control (controls the heater core flap/AC and fan speed).
Sounds like you also need to contact Jay for a copy of the owners manual.

I know for a fact that if you put it on auto and turn it to heat it will direct air to the footwell instead of front vents.
