Lane? What Lane?

Driving home this afternoon in the #1 (fast) lane at about 75mph today and I see a SUV coming up fast in my rear view mirror. Thinking that it might be a CHP, I left off a bit and slow to about 70mph.

Then I notice that the SUV is driving in the center emergency lane next to the center divider. WTF?

The SUV passes me doing around 80mph. The guy keeps going and I keep him in sight for about 5 miles and he just keeps driving there. By now, I am laughing out loud.

I don't think he ever realized that he wasn't actually in a legal lane. Crazy.

Well, what were you doing in the passing lane, Tom? Its not a "fast lane". The left lane is for passing only, then you move back over to the right.

Just giving you crap.
(Seriously, though. Left lane drivers are the worst)

After I took the photo, I passed him and disappeared in the distance...

Left lane Louie's. They get in the left lane, drive the speed limit and have a conga line behind them and an open lane to the right. Even worse when its only 2 lanes each way and they pace a truck

But since there was someone driving to the left of him, he was not in the left lane

I'm really just jealous of your SC.

I watched a lady drive the wrong way up the off ramp about a half mile in front of me the other day in KC. I quickly moved all the way to the left lane and slowed down. Luckily, she realized her mistake and pulled onto the shoulder before she hit someone head-on.

I just liked watching this guy driving in the center median and not realizing that it wasn't a lane...

Lane? What Lane?

The driver was probably too busy flapping them gums on the cell phone.

Oh dear, that's not a Lane?
I always thought it was the Fast, Fast Lane
There is usually so much debris in those shoulder lanes that they were luck they didn't get a blow out
So your 911 is right hand drive, and the passenger took the picture @70 mph?
