Another Tire Topic

I have a 2006 CS with 16.6K miles. The Michelin Sports are worn badly on the rear inside - both tires. I know this is pretty common.
I wasn't all that impressed with the grip of the Sports. (I ran Kumho Ecsta ACS on my 2002 Box base and thought they had more grip.)
Any advice on replacements? I will probably replace just the rears. thanks

A lot depends on what kind of driving you intend to do on the tires

DD?
AX?
Track?
Summer tire?
All Season?

They all have different requirements.

For a good and low cost DD tire, look at the Sumitomo HTR ZIII. It is a summer tire.

Don't mix different tires front and rear, they will have different grip and performance characteristics

Check out the new Firestone Indy 500. I really like mine. Good price point too.

I'm guessing your Michelin's are original and now 10 years old, about 4 to 5 years beyond their useful life, so it not surprising your not impressed with grip. At this point almost anything will have more grip.

As JayG said a lot depends on your intended use. Sumitomo HTR ZIII, from experience, are good tires at a great price.

Might want to get an alignment done, I have never had a problem with super sports
