Anyone know of any trustworthy places that have good deals on rims? Would like to stay around 2k for wheels and tires.

Jeph bought a set of 18 inch Carerra lights from them for under a grand and loves them.

I got my Carrera 5 spokes from Ernies Alloys in Miami Florida. Paid $1900 definitely very close to cost. Carreras look great on Guards Red.
KRATZCO has a nice set of black wheels with polished lip that would also look very nice on Guards Red.
Had a few deals on Ebay slip through my fingers. Check the Porsch Club of AMerica classifieds.

But your budget is good don't spend allot of money, cast alloy wheels will dent at any price. Forged wheels are much stronger but also much more expensive.

987 Boxster S 18" wheels deleivered with PS2 rubber on them--new car take offs. I use them now as a track set.
Check out the wheels that Jeph got--Carrera knock offs that ran about $1K and they look great.

I have to agree with RandallNeighbour. I read about http://www.wheeldynamics.net here on the board. I sent Carlos a bunch of emails, trying to choose just the right combination for my car. He was very responsive and never lost his patience, regardless of my stupid questions. When I finally did pull the trigger, he shipped the wheel and tire package to me immediately. The wheels arrived quickly and they were carefully packaged. In fact, the rims I chose for my car were back-ordered 7-9 weeks at Discount Tire Direct and the other big retailers, but Carlos said he could get them anyway...and he did. Carlos is my new wheel guy, no question.

I checked out the sites and KRATZCO's wheels, wow. Those wheels are nice. Im thinking 19's now for sure I like the black center and polised lips.

I bought wheel spacers for my 911 from Ernies Alloys in FL and their customer service is triple top notch. I bought a set of 17" turbo twist replicas with Porsche insignia centers and chrome valve stems (also with porsche insignias). They came with Continental tires mounted and balanced. $1200 and change. I waited till the end of the day at the Hershey PA swap meet to make my deal and loaded them in my truck. I can't remember the name of the dealer but it seems to me that swap meets are great places to but Porsche stuff. I got Super Blue brake fluid for 10 bucks a quart from one guy. If you can wait a bit and make it to Hershey you may be able to score a deal. Of course you obviously have to have a way to get the stuff back to make the frieght savings. Might look a little funny with 4 wheels and tires strapped to the trunk of your Boxter.

Carlos took care of me and was responsive and informative and sent tracking numbers before I ever even asked. I've already got them on my 2001. Looks awesome. Definitely recommend them

My people speak the truth... wheeldynamics.net served me well. $979 for the Carrera replicas, no spacers required. By the way, even the Porsche dealership was impressed with the look of them. That is, they were very surprised that they were replicas.

At that price, you can almost take your pick of any tires you want to stay under the $2k price point.

I already have 17's , now Im back to the 18" or 19" debate. I was positive I wanted 19's now Im not sure. Jeph, you car looks great what size are you running?

So you have a frame of reference, these are 19x8s and 19x9.5s with no spacers. The tires are 235s and 275s. I have no rubbing or problems. The 19s are slightly noisier than the 18s I replaced, but I don't notice any decrease in ride quality. I've read here on the board that handling isn't as good if you go bigger than 18s. I haven't noticed a difference in everyday driving, but we haven't really beat on the car yet. There's an autocross next Sunday at Ripkin Stadium, but, of course, I'm only going as a spectator ;)

these look nice on red. Although You can't beat $980 for Carrera replicas.
Yeah KRATZCO's HRE-look add about $20,000 to the look. Maybe too flashy
for this area. Forgot where you are from but getting snow tires on 19" can be an expensive project. I'm thinking of having two sets of wheels.

I purchased my rim's tires from Brandywine Porsche Tel. 610-886-1000
in Pennsylvania.

They are Forgline wheels 19x8.5 and 19x10's in the rear.
