Front bumper upgrade without spending insane money?

Hey all,

I am really getting sick of my 2000 S bumper and it is pretty beat up. When I go to buy a new one, are there any relatively easy to do upgrades that don't require dropping a ton of money? What have others done? Pictures appreciated!

996.1 bumper is a direct bolt-on.

Thano you! I will look into that. Is anything else necessary to buy or are the dimensions fairly similar?

dimensions are EXACTLY the same, which means it's a direct bolt-on.

I hate the stock Carrera 996 bumper, so I put a 986S bumper on my 911... but I cut RS vents into the nose & painted the grilles black:

J.Fro, nice wheels. I think its funny 986 guys put on 996 bumper, 996 guys put on 986 S bumper. Great idea does look good on your car. I have a GT3 grille to cut into the bumper when I get a chance. used gutter guard to cover the opening so no road debris gets in. I have a set of rims like the ones you have one of these days I will get the tires for them.

I have wondered about adapting a front center trim piece from a 997 or similar to fit.
Just how to figure how to attach it and maybe adapt it for a center radiator.
A quick photoshop.
