Vinyl sounds good, you could probably get the smallest roll available for a few bucks, stick it on and you'll be able to pull it off immediately if you don't like it. Because it's the internet, I've seen conflicting reports of removing vinyl after time goes by but anyway when you first finish the job you'll be able to easily peel it off if you don't like it. Do post pics if you go that way!
