Suggestions for changing an all-black interior?
I have a '99 base with all-black interior (Arctic silver ext.). I love it but it's kind of bland, being so monotone, and was wondering if anyone out there has done some mods and could post pics? Easy mods, difficult mods, cheap, expensive, doesn't matter; just looking for ideas. I did peruse the show and tell gallery, just hoping to see more pics/suggestions...

Hi
Iv just sprayed the trim pieces near the interior door handles silver then clear lacquered them as they were a bit scratched with years of use, they look ace but I think if If I was you id find someone locally who does vinyl wrapping and get them to wrap maybe a few pieces in something like 3M metallic silver or a high gloss carbon fibre. There is loads of nice vinyls now and its not a destructive modification as you could always heat it up and remove it if you fancied going back stock.
Maybe the plastic panel that runs between the seats and the the door grab rails and handle trim pieces. Trick is to keep subtle

I second the centre console change. Painting it silver to match the exteriour is fantastic. But yes, would encourage getting it done professionally, unless you are experienced yourself. I did my centre console on my 986 and while the result was 'okay' it certainly wasn't up to Porsche standards. Maybe buy an old on off ebay and try it out.

Funny you want to change from black. I just changed mine from red to black. I added some silver to some of the trim as well. I'll have to take a few pics and post them.

I have the gray interior and I'm not a big fan of it. When I had an issue with the driver's side air bag (my 18 year old son got the car airborne, but that's another story) I had to replace the door panel. I found a black one on eBay for $60-70. Liked the look so I replaced the right side panel in black for about the same cost. The black really helps change up the look. Would like to do more but I'm little hesitant to go down that path.

Only the center console, door handles, glovebox handle and door pulls are stock. I painted the radio surround, cubby surround, instrument surround and ignition surround. also the dash strip. It's an '03 S.
