top speed exhaust pics

Anyone have pics of this exhaust installed on their 03/04 boxster? I'm just about ready to make the purchase but the only thing holding me back is the tips. Since they are smaller, my concern is that they will not fill out the larger 03/04 valence as nicely as the stock S tips do. I love the way the stock tips look and don't want the back of the car to look any less "mean" so to speak.

Hi just installing today. They are the Beluga racing ones with 3 inch tips. But i think they are the same as all the other ebay ones. It has the newer style tips. Send you some pictures when done. Fitment is off out of the box. Sits to high/close to the bumper. had to drill new holes on brace to bring it down. Be best just weld a new bracket onto the old and bring it down even more for a better look.

Thanks eomak. I was hoping the top speed wouldn't require modifications like that.

And thanks for the link Markus but I'm looking for pics of the exhaust on a facelift bumper specifically. It has a larger cut out for the exhaust tips than the pre facelift. I seem to remember measuring my tips and the outer diameter is a little under 4" tall and about 3" wide. The top speed tips are 3" and perfectly circular. My concern is that they wouldn't fit the bumper nicely and/or they would look too small.

I was worried about that too. Looking smaller then the OEM tip. But they actually look OK. Other then sitting to high in that area.It should sit another1 inch lower. I guess these mufflers were designed on 97-02. Not 03-04 with the rear bumper having extra lower body peace. Adjusting this morning and then bolting down. Worried about sound now.... being to loud.

Just use a drill and start shaving the holes upwards another holes lenght . It brings it down to look more natural and show more of the tips. But if you have time get a welding shop to weld another peace ontop to bring it down 2inchs or more so can have the pipes straight sticking out. Right now on mine they are kinda angled downwards. Send ya later today pictures.

Thanks for the info. Let me know what you think about the sound. I already have the test/bypass pipes on now and I've read that the combo sounds awesome.

Without sound vids this is boring. Where is the Official Boxster Exhaust Sound Clip thread?

Martin, misaligned tailpipes; no-can-do bud, major lost of power! I've straighten mine by placing a pull steel rod in them, slightly bending them into their place. Worked like a charm. Yours needs it too (takes 2min to do)

Thanks for the pic fintro. I really, really want this exhaust for the sound. I'm just worried it sacrifices too much in the looks department compared to stock. Thoughts? I'm leaning toward the rolled tip version.

Installed but....... small leak on left. So have to take apart again tomorrow morning.Bumper is off but it looks good on. I think you do not have to worry about the looks as long as you do small mod to bring down/hang lower the unit.My OEM clamp has lost its complete seal/damaged. think i well use those band clamps on it. Sound is not to loud at all . Sounds good. Like what it should of sounded like out of the factory.

Thanks for the pics. The rolled tips do not look bad at all! Keep us posted on the final result. Fitment is important to me and I would like to know what is required to make it sit well before I purchase.

Here it is with bumper on. Wow they do sound great!!! Just screams going threw a tunnel. 4 inch tips would be perfect. These newer style ones or upgraded built ones.... still have a bit of not so straight exhaust tips. Right pulls up a bit. Was hoping they fixed that. But i guess u could weld them straight. Got all info. on how to install off this site. Just added the drilling part to lower the unit almost a inch down. Could come down a lot more. But then u would have to weld another peace to the hanger . GL.

I don't think the height looks too bad at all. The right tip being slightly up is not that noticeable either. Good stuff!

Ps your car looks great

If I'd be you, and if you have a few already, I'd just crack on and get the thread setup Woody (In the performance & mod section of the forum perhaps). Expect a million hits on that by 2018.... certainly would be a valuable resource to the community.

Some exhaust tunes differs a lot between products/vendors. Folks mostly buy for the sound enhancement those provide (imo) and we don't have this sound database reference anything anywhere. So.....

See, perfect example; Martin's FB upload ^. I would have opted for a TopSpeed system instead of the one I got now if I would have "heard it" before. Thanks to Martin for making me regret my purchase lolllll

Man!!!! After spending money and time into this project. The next day i over hear on the TV news here in Canada Vancouver BC. There is this new traffic tickening law or they are inforceing it more on how loud your vehicle can be and they will have a sound meter device on hand to test and give tickets. Oh boy!! Other countries have this already? Guess i will have to keep off the gas. Its not to loud if drive normally. But when stomp on it .Man it screams red and blue lights.
