I think this one is different from the kit that has been posted before. Anyway, that's hideous!

It's one thing to supe up a Fiero or something and tossing a kit on it, but the Boxster is a fine car as it is! No need to make it a poser GT. I am unbelievably curious as to the personality types that actually buy this!?!

$125k for the BIN... That would require some one to have a thought process like this...
"I could get a GT3 brand new, maybe a used 911 Turbo... but this psuedo-Carrera GT looks like the way to go!"

If I were in the market for a brand new Boxster, and this car was 10k cheaper, I STILL WOULDN'T CONSIDER IT!

Wow, I'm getting angry.

I think the most disturbing aspect was reading this...

"The original boxster was completely dissassembled and stretched 12 inches so it would have the same wheel base as an orignal Carrera GT."

That can't be good...

Why in the WORLD would they do such a project without an order?? They will NEVER sell it for anything more than what the car cost new, and if they sell it for that, they would be lucky. I say 35k and someone will take it home.

It's a total disaster.

Why spend 300k on the real thing, with a V10 motor and the most advanced engineering that Porsche has to offer when you can get a 2.7l V6 version with a huge piece of fiberglass riding on an artificially stretched wheelbase??

when i first saw it, i re-read the entire add a couple of times, thinking i'm missing the punch line - wait you went through the hassle to stretch the car 12", but you didn't change the engine and/or drive train - geez, just paint the calipers and add some red door moldings to the side air vents and call it good!!

wow relax none of you pointed out what really disgusted u.......because the front is gorgeous, the sides look really cool with the side indents. i saw a tech art kit that was the same for the new boxster, pretty cool if you ask me......

the only part of the car that looks bad is the backkkk, the roof looks terrible. does not look right....but really the boxster back is hurting anyways. but he just ruined it even more.

nice paint job in white, pretty cool looking car........and yes it is not worth putting in another $50,000 to do that.

Did you view the right auction? That thing is wrong any way you look at it. I used to beleive in the phrase "diff'rent strokes for diff'rent folks." (You're opinion is incorrect.) Because of this car/auction, I must retract such an assertion as that.

As for the back of the Boxster, it's one of its best angles!

so are you telling me that you dont like the new gt carrera. as far as i can see, this car looks exactly the same as the gt carrera. so you cant say that the front is ugly or wrong. the side is pretty cool with the side indents, tech art makes the same for a new boxster...well pretty much the same idea. so you cant say that the side looks that bad. the back bottom bumper is pretty cool also, with the exaust pipes like that...i think gemballa makes the same for any year boxster.

soo in fact the only problem with this car is the roof lines. the roof is very odd looking. but thats it.

n the fact that nobody in there right mind would spend $50,000 to make a fake gt carrera........................................... .................

the back is soo ugly on a boxster up close. from far away yes the boxster ass is pretty dam hot.

thats your opinion, no need to hate.......whats so special about your boxster....most people dont even like the boxster...but thats there opinion. so why would you question what i like and what i dislike.

next time tell me exactly what is wrong with the car, not that its just wrong...lol

ya hear

Hey jefh,

here is a gt front end and a rear.....you can borrow my glasses, and see that the car is pretty much the same. i guess you didnt like the boxster lights on the front, because thats all that is different. back view yes the real gt roof is nicer, but pretty much the same.

so really you dont like the gt carrera. or the boxster lights, because the 2005 lights are the best lights that porsche has ever made. not a fan of beetle mini lights like on the old 911s or new 997.

n check out the third pic of the techart side skirts body 987...sickkkkkkkk

Okay, how's this. It looks about as much like a Carrera GT as a Fiero kit looks like a Ferrari.

While the back end is basically there, it's out of proportion when compared to the roll bar hoops (which are the wrong shape - too rectangular - too tall). The headlights are wrong and not as aggressive. The side scoops are wrong and not as deep or sexy. Don't even get me started on the fake turbine hoods on the back. Where the wheel wells curve in on the front aggressively, the faker just looks - well fake like a kit car. The body panel fit looks like what I'd expect from a kit car.

Basically, it looks like a crappy kit car. Happy? Can I say it's wrong now?

Unbelievable

I would be embarassed to be seen in that thing. It is so incredibly ugly and ridiculous. Not to mention expensive. For the money I could get a Carrera 4S and still have money left.
