Just washed the car and found the first nicks and chips on the front. Not just one or two, but a bunch. You know it’s going to happen, especially with a daily driver, but that doesn't make it any easier.

Sorry to hear about the chips, nicks....I know what you mean tho. The first time I washed and detailed my car ( and it was a used '98), I REALLY got a look at the chips....it looked like someone exploded a can of white paint near it ! After a flying lava rock hit it tho, I got a new one, and yes, there are already a few nicks here and there....Get a paint kit to cover up your nicks and you'll feel better about it!

I feel your pain, my last car was black I was so sick of the stone chips and scratches I got a Seal grey Boxster and clear bra.

So what exactly is a clear bra? Is it just a clear film that is put on the front bumper? Can you remove it?

Iam a Carbra devotee. Have one forthe IS 3oo Lexus and just purchased one for my '03 Box. from Eagleday-- good fit and well made except a bit sloppy around the headlights. They do save a lot of agony except when after 3 years of diligent use on the Lexus some clown opened an 4 wheel drive rear door onto the hood resulting in a respray anyway!!!.

I had clear bra applied as soon as I took delivery of my 05 S. It cost about a grand to
install on front half of hood,front half of fenders,whole front bumper, and wheel wells and is worth every penny. You can buy the kits to do it yourself but you need access to a spray booth to eliminate dust from getting under the film. They did my car with a Ford GT that had a bunch of chips already with only a thousand miles. The chips really show through the film and they ended up reshooting the whole front of the car. The owner of the shop that I patronize uses it on his 997 race car.

I've found the areas on the door panels just below the side-windows (where the panel curves in slightly) to be susceptible to minute chipping as well. Anyone else experience this phenomena and/or know why?

i've heard that the clear bra's on the black cars look really bad - any truth??
