No oil pan gasket?

Is it true that there's no oil pan gasket? Just RTV?

Correct and I believe Loctite 518 is one of the goo's of choice.

Reinzosil is a good one, easy to use, waaaay easier than the loctite. Remember only a 1-2 mm bead of sealant is sufficient, too much can squeeze out inside and clog the oil.pickup.

I was also surprised to find out there is no oil pan gasket.

I used RTV using the method, that YouTuber, Chris Fix describes. Basically, it's a stepped process, put the RTV on the sump plate, let it setup a bit, install the plate with just enough tightening to squeeze the RTV, let it cure a bit longer, and then tighten down.

This method worked really well for me. No leaks.

Thanks Mig, and All... Thinking, wouldn't be very difficult to make a gasket. I might try that. Had some success with the rubber infused cork stuff before.
