Need help removing side vent

Guys I need help removing the side vent on my 98. I've searched here and still can't get a clear answer on how this comes out. One of the louvers on mine is gone and want to replace just the black plastic piece. Thanks

I wish I had words of encouragement, but getting the vents out without breaking something is hard. Sometimes they come out without a fight, but most of the time they can be difficult. I have a busy weekend coming up, but I'll try and post a picture of the back side so you can see what you're dealing with. The black part of the vent has three tabs that slide into metal brackets attached to the vehicle. In the front leading corner of the vent there's a lip that holds it to the body. If you come straight out with the vent on that corner, you'll break that tab off. There might be a special tool or procedure for getting them out?

Been awhile since I did this but the outer shroud slides sideways and off. That leaves the vents as you can see from pics. Fortunately mine didn't break. Good luck, pics should give you a better idea what you are dealing with.

Garage
once you get the shroud off you can pull the vent gills towards you and it will pop out. I just replaced my 99 vents with those off a 03-04. I like the look

Got it ! Pretty easy too. The whole process took 10 minutes.
