just joined the ranks

just drove home last night from TX to chicagoland. picked up a 99 boxster base.

as you can see, it was a rainy trip and the tape came more than a little undone. i can't believe it's supposed to rain the rest of the week.

It has been rainy tho.......Looks like I may be doing a trek across the US myself. Chi town to California! Gotta get the car checked out and all first....But whats with the tape?

Take some shots of the car when it's:

a) daylight
b) you've removed all that blue tape
c) When it's not raining

We'd love to see your new ride. Love the color btw... dark blue's one of my favorites!

i'll have some decent pics when i get done detailing it. i just wanted to show the awesome tape job...which actually looked really good before all the rain tore it off.

yes, the tape is a makeshift nose guard for those cross country travel...all those trucks on the interstate can shoot up some crazy debris...besides, going through areas where you have never been leaves you vulnerable to hazards you may normally avoid. .nothing worse than getting a paint chip before you get home. and of course, the only pebble that pelted me was about 5 miles from my house...luckily didn't seem to leave a mark.

I see where you're coming from. It just looked kinda odd when I took a look at it. What kind of tape did you use by the way? I may end up having to do something like that in the future myself!

And people thought I went far to pick-up my car (Dayton, OH)!

Hey, that tape idea may come in handy for the next production of "The American Inventor"!!
