Factory Dash Mic?

Morning Guys

I have this (what appears to be ) a Mic on the left side of the console.
2004 Boxster S Special Edition

The book for the radio does not say anything about.

The car's manual is talking something about and installed phone?

Does this radio support some sort of blue tooth?

Or what kind of phone does it support?

Anybody have any insight...

Thanks Bart

You need to remove it from the cluster surround to see if you have a mic. It pulls straight out. I've only seen a mic there once and that was on a customer's box.

Forget Bluetooth, the corded phone option is where it's at.

I've got the grill but nothing behind it. Thought it might be a great place to run the mic from my aftermarket radio.

Look at the hvac in the phone photo. I'm glad they didn't leave the factory like that.

Plenty did. That's the cheaper manual option. I've seen more than a few.

Behind is a microphone which measures the noise in the car cabin and adjusts the CDR23 loudness level automatically.

Phone mic had to be added on the steering console cover if you ordered a mobile phone set console. Another option was the hard wired phone module shown above.

The CDR23 doesn't support bluetooth, but there are after market adapters. For example Dension Gateway 500.

Regards, Markus

Weird I have never seen that in an Ad before.

Was automatic just a really common option?

This topic is quite outdated.
But anyway, there are in fact three types of microphone (lhd):

99664630704 - noise mic only (as Smallblock454 mentioned)
99664630702 - HF mic only
99664630703 - combined (two wired) noise + HF mic

If you change the red 7 to 8 you will get the mics for rhd.

I've found this post because I'd like to install some BT HF and wanted to use OEM mic. Too late I found out there are more mics and the one in my car is noise only
