Now what?

As part of my $5,200 repair bill, my slave cylinder was changed out. After 3 weeks of driving, my clutch pedal occasionally fails to return and I have to pull it back up with my toe. This started the other day when I was in my driveway and stalled the car with the pedal depressed. I pulled it back up then looked under the car and saw a few drips of fluid. The car shifts and brakes fine. No problems until this morning.

Do I need to bleed the system to fix this?

Air in the line won't cause fluid to escape. I'd want to know exactly what the fluid is.

Since it came from below the slave cylinder, I assume it's hydraulic fluid (brake/clutch).

There are 2 parts in that system. The master cylinder below your foot and the slave on the trans.

Sounds like a stop at the shop that did the work is needed.

Check out Pedro's Boxster website. He's in Florida too. Maybe you get his take on your shop.

Likely the clutch master cylinder. Operates on brake fluid from the brake resovoir.

Gotta add that it's not uncommon to have a master fail after replacing the slave....

Don't despair, these are not big repairs compares to what you've already been through.

An update to the continuing saga:

The clutch pedal only fails to return when in reverse. I pulls back easily with the toe of my shoe. Any ideas on a remedy?

What did the shop that did the $5,200 worth of repairs say?

Waiting on a call back from them. Hopefully soon.
