Started back in the 70's. Parents friend was a used car dealer. Had a long body 911 on the lot so he decided to take myself and his two sons to a porsche show. I was likely 8. Anyway, his son who was likely 8 leaned on a 911. The owner socked the kid so I thought, geez this guys are nuts. I was hooked. I won't tell what the father did. Loved everything porsche ever since.
