There's beauty underneath it

I finally got into the engine compartment for the first time since I bought the car this past year and after cleaning 16 years of grime of the engine it shows nicely now. Its a shame these motors are hidden because they are impressive to look at.

Whatever happened to the thread where a contributor was going to make up a clear poly covers for the engine compartment??

I think the engine compartment got too hot and the plastic sagged.

Perhaps Plexi was not the best choice but something with more heat resistance.

I suppose if you had an engine fire it would get into the passenger compartment really suddenly and perhaps not leave you enough time to escape unharmed.

Nice idea but careful material selection is important in this application.

I think the "Flux Capacitor" look might make it appear a little cheesy but to each their own.

Take a photo while it's clean, and put that as your stereo wallpaper?
