Fun scale model find....

With some free time today I browsed a few small antique/collectables shops and found this 1:18 Porsche GT1. I didn't know anyone had even made a model of those.

My "fried egg" collection is nearly complete.

Nice find! That is pretty amazing that a manufacture would make one of those. I need one for my collection

I've since searched and a few turned up on eBay. One by AutoArt for well north of $200, and one by UT (the one above) for $50-80. I got mine for $12 because it's missing the wing.

The Boxster is by UT models and turns up on eBay from time to time. Red is the most common, but I've seen them in black and silver as well.

LOL, technically I guess it is complete.

The wing on the silver car is the first thing I would take off! I know it has an important purpose, but look how great the lines flow without its presence.

Don't mean to hijack this thread but...

I have the UT 986 Boxster in Arctic Silver with grey interior, new in the box for $50 plus shipping. Only downsides - box is slightly shelf worn, has not been de-ambered and no ims upgrade Also have a bunch of Maisto 911 GT1s like Retromans, but in racing livery. These have been on display so a bit dusty. Also have some 917s including a nice Kyosho. Looking for $25 for the Maistos and $50 for the Kyosho, all plus shipping. I do have the boxes for these somewhere. PM me if interested and for better photos. And yes, I know this isn't ebay so moderator, please delete if you feel inappropritate.

Its funny how it is become our nature to collect "Stuff".

You can always get a person to warm up to a stranger by asking about their collections. I suppose we all have this in common.

Any students of psychology care to enlighten us on why this is so?

Anyways, that's a nice Porsche collection. Looks like Leno's garage.

On top of other collections I seem to be collecting 986 parts, new and used, that are either going on the car or removed from it due to "upgrades".

I'm torn between keeping the original parts in case I want to restore the car back to stock and selling them to make room for more stuff.
