Actually, if I recall the write up on the LS2 conversion, the issue is that you could not launch it without breaking the tires loose.

I suspect they will resolve that issue. If so, I see the car as a nice experiment and not really all that expensive for the fun factor.

It seems to me, tires are becoming THE limiting factor on some cars.

That is true of the new Lingenfelter and Calloway zo6 mods.

Noo I have no plans on buying a car for 30k then dumping another 20k into it to run 12.8 lol. For me 12.8 is just really slow for a straight line car and to dump 20k to run that slow is just nuts.. You could have a Z06 for that money and mop the floor with that Pontiac all day long, leaf springs and all...

Wait till the 250hp 2.0L turbo model comes out. I'll bet it can be made to run 12.8 for under 3000 bux with a turbo upgrade, some injectors and a fuel computer and a front mount. The SRT-4 made 500whp on 117octane gas with FULL stock internals. It's the same motor, so the turbo version will mop the floor with that LS1 version pretty easily for way less money. That will be cool when thats done. All the performance companies that did the SRT-4 like AMS and Turbochargers.com will make crap lods of stuff and make them fly a lot better than an LS1 will for way less money.

Thats AGP's SRT-4 kit, wait till something like that shows up for the Turbo Solstice. 400whp with light weight from a small turbo package.. Thats gonna be cool.
