Help, refrigerant leaking through ac condensation drain.
The drain that is under the passenger footwell is leaking refrigerant....where is the refrigerant coming from and what could be causing this???
Thanks |
First, how do you know it is a refrigerant leak? If it is, it is coming from the AC heat exchanger inside the heater box.
|
I think it is refrigerant oil actually...by the smell, look and feel I am quite sure it is refrigerant.....is there some other fluid that would be able to exit from that drain?

If your evaporator is leaking you are facing a big project.
You can verify that by adding die to the refrigerant, and light the puddle under the car with a UV flslight. Anyway, this is the fix. http://986forum.com/forums/diy-project-guides/37246-c-evaporator-replacement-c-foam-flakes.html |
Thanks for the info..I will add the dye to confirm your thought. Looks like a huge project but that's what winters are for.
Thanks very much. |
