PCM telephone not working

Hello friends!!!!

I have inserted a sim card on the slot...of PCM ...then passcode is requested by the sim card. Successfully accepted but it stays on the message search for net.....


what is missing???

I would not be surprised if the PCM system in your '04 Boxster is too outdated to communicate with the current cellular system. In eleven years a lot has changed. That said... hopefully someone with experience with these systems can chime in.

You will need a SIM card for a GSM compatible network AND the optional phone kit installed from the dealer.

My understanding is that all cars have the SIM slot but it won't work without the optional phone kit. The info that I have says the option is code 666 - Phone Option for PCM or PCM2 Telephone (GSM). If installed, the "666" code should be on the options list on the decal under the front trunk lid.
