Did TRON order a Porsche?
Huh. So what the heck is this? Popped up on the showroom floor today. Dealer was closed so I couldn't ask about it.

If those show up at night that would be sweeeeet.
Love the old Tron. |
Get us a night picture! I want to see that thing lit up! :)

The car will have four electric motors, one per wheel. Together, these motors will produce 3,320 pound-feet of torque. Top speed for the e-tron is limited to 200 kilometres per hour and it will be able to travel 150 miles on full charge.

Looks like a 991 Turbo that's been chrome wrapped.
|
Utterly hideous.
|
I haven't seen anything referencing this online so I assume it's a "dealer special edition" or a promo vehicle. Agreed, has to be a wrap of some kind.
Yeah, it's not my bag, but it would be interesting to see what it looks like driving under the city lights at night. You'd stand out, that's for sure! (yeah, old TRON all the way! Never saw the new-remake-sequel, whatever it was) |

Imagine the blinding glare coming off that in traffic. Keeping it clean and spotless would be a chore.

seems to be a fad over in vancouver all the rich kids from asia are doing it to all their exotic cars .... I think it looks ugly but at night it looks pretty cool i guess
|
It's a chrome wrap (very $$ to do right) with reflective
tape placed over the wrap. Seems to be very popular to do on high end exotics (lambos especially). You can google tron car wrap and probably find some similar designs. The reflective tape does show up at night depending on the angle you are viewing it from. There is a prismatic chrome wrap film that trumps all of these and is sure to send bystanders into a seizure when viewed. Not something I would choose to do personally but I guess if you need lots of attention.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V1_vVjYwJKQ Fast forward to about 2:58 when it goes through the tunnel. BTW...I think this is Justin Beiber's japanese cousin. |
Oh yeah, I can't even begin to imagine the upkeep on that finish, even for an occasional car. And at high noon you'd be pissing off everyone around you!
