Compliments are amazing...

I have had my 987 for 2 months now and the compliments I get everywhere I go just amaze me. I live in Los Angeles where you can't drive a mile without seeing a porsche boxster, 911, turbo's even gt 3's. Everyday on the way to or from work I see at least 1 Ferrari 360, a couple Bentleys, a Maserati, a few Aston Martins and more SLK55's than I can count. On the weekends it's not unusual to see a couple Gallardos buzzing around. I'm not saying that they don't get compliments, but that is why I am so amazed at how many I get. And they are from all kinds of people. Men of all ages, kids, even women driving mini vans. The woman in the mini van just happened today why I was at the gas station. She gets out of her Mini van as say "That's a really cool car!". I got a buddy who traded his Boxster for a 911 and he even says he doesn't get the compliments he got with his Boxster. I guess it just goes to show you that the Boxster is a beatiful car the transends all ages and genders.

Thanks. The photo was taken the day I got the car and dealer had just detailed it. While I bought the car used, it was only 8 months old with 2900 miles. I've had the car about 2 months now and only time will tell if the paint stays looking this good. So far so good. I swore I would never buy another black car, but Black looks SO good when it's new. Right now I'm experimenting with different washes and detailers.

Oh... and the wheels may have something to do with it

I enjoyed catching the attention of 2 beautiful blondes in a Mazda 3 over the weekend.

When people risk their lives, shouldn't it be for something very important?
Well, it better be.
But what is so important about driving faster than anyone else?
Lots of people go through life doing things badly. Racing's important to men who do it well.
When you're racing, it's life. Anything that happens before or after is just waiting.

I actually got a compliment from a older gentlemen driving 996 4S coupe. First time ever from a 911 driver! He said he wished he had my car on a sunny day like this.

I have a speed yellow one so it really pulls the attention. Every time I drive I see people pointing at it (especially young kids) and people just want to say hi. I also see the wives riding shot gun with their husbands checking out the driver of this sports car which is always funny to me. I also have a black Mercedes and while it is more expensive than the boxster, it doesn't receive even 5% of the compliments and attention of the box.

I have to say that I love this attention. Just makes me feel like I bought the coolest car (and I did)...

Man I have to move to LA/SoCal sounds like you go to a car show every day you're driving. And great weather to boot. If I can find a job to keep me occupied I'm outta here!

I get a compliment on each drive, some questions about my seats and the never ending "how fast have you taken it?" question.
But driving around NYC where I drive at least twice a week doesn't usually turn up many Boxsters and fewer 911's. Cayennes are very frequent but that's not really a sports car

Must Be The Shoes!

Cmon Smith....

It's got to be those wheels!!!
(I'm sooooo friggin jealous!!!)

After two weeks of 987S ownership....i'm still sneaking out to the parking lot to grab a look.---

I am quickly realizing that black is a mutha to keep clean.... upon purchase of the car, i also purchased enough tools and polish to open a small detailing buisness!
So much work....but when it shines...... WooooHooooo!

and finally... while i have recieved compliments, they mostly come from my peers (the middle age crisis males) --- couldn't be the driver.....could it?

Rondog, I'm right there with you. Currently my detailing business isn't doing to well. I have 1-client and two cars......may I ad, the client doesn't pay me anything and I'm my only client........not looking too good so far.

I think it's safe to say it's not the driver
