In the past someone pried the lid open and used a very thin wrench to remove catch attached to lid. Another guy removed the bumper and CUT A HOLE thru to the latch. I found these posts when I was fixing cable ends that had pulled off. (fairly common) Good luck. Oh and another post went thru the vent in the wheel well? that goes thru to the trunk and caught the latch with a coat hanger......I think

Rear trunk lid

I have looked through all the related posts. The 10mm wrench sounds like the most promising. I will, however, on the unlikely chance, try to access the manual release to see if I might have left it on. I didn't photograph anything because there isn't anything to see. I have also looked at used lids on eBay. They start about $150.00. Labor and paint extra, and a last resort.
