Gas prices! 11 years later same price
Regular gas nearby just went below $2 this week. That's the same price I was paying back in 2004! One thing that is different now however is that the price of premium is not as close to the price of regular as it was back in 2004. I recall the days when going up a level was just 10 or 15 cents. Now the gap from regular and Porsche flavor is still nearly 50 cents. I guess they figured people who drive nicer cars won't miss the extra $5.
Where are your gas prices?

Other car is Merc GL320CDI, so great to have diesel cheaper than gasoline, too.

South NJ = Citgo regular $1.85
Their Premium $2.29
Shell VPower (My choice) $2.49
With the low gas $ I'm going to take another, off the cuff, 1900 mile drive down to Florida. Could be less than $200 for fuel

76, Shell and Chevron are all about the same here in the Bay Area.
$2.99
$3.09
$3.19
Arco, Safeway and other non branded stations are about .13 cents less.

It's always interesting how close NJ and FL always are on gas prices.
Well at least in Central Florida, I don't get down to South Florida during summer...still too way humid.

I believe it's because the perception of future demand has finally fallen in line with the reality. Even back when crude was above $100 global production was outpacing actual consumption. At those inflated prices everyone turned on the spigot because costs could be recouped and still turn a big profit. But now that China has hit their inevitable slow down from a series of unsurprising financial mistakes the bidders seem to be back firmly on planet Earth. Asia and the Euro zone have some problems that aren't gong away anytime soon no matter what happens in Russia.
Instead of diamonds and gold I'm buying stock in these energy companies that pay out decent dividends.
Energy is still in the top four of best asset classes over 20 the last years, even at $2 gas those guys have no shortage of customers.

filled up yesterday. A little over 30 dollars for a little over 13 gallons.
We have some of the cheapest gas in the county, it's been under 2 dollars for a few weeks now.
Gas is $1.86 at the local shell station.
Premium prices are in the $2.20s and $2.30s

I'm psyched about how much cheaper diesel is than regular, over $.40 less where I live. When we bought our F250 Powerstroke diesel in 1999, we were told that it would take about 60,000 miles to save the amount of money from buying the less expensive diesel fuel, as it cost us to pay for the upgrade to a diesel engine. Soon after diesel went up, way up, to where it was more expensive than premium. That was around the time the Iraq war began (do military vehicles use diesel?). Now, 16 years and nearly 250,000 miles later, diesel is again less expensive (a lot less) than regular, as it should be!

In the Peoples Republic of California we have the worst gas blend and highest gas taxes. California's gas taxes are among the highest in the nation, with the state charging 45.4 cents for every gallon purchased. Then the government raids the gas taxes that are meant for the roads and spends them on other worthless endeavors. And the roads are so bad here.
I just gassed up..... $3.379 for premium. That is the lowest I've paid in awhile.

90% of the gas price in France is taxes

Over here in germany the gas price for 1 litre Super Plus (98 octane) is around 1,50 euro at the moment. 1 gallon is 3,7854118 litres. So 1 gallon would be 5,78 euros, or 6,60 USD.
Regards from Germany

Heh, it comes down. On visits I have paid as much as the equivalent of $9 a gallon. Beer is going to be cheaper too! Strong dollar helps. It's for another visit!
