2000 Boxster S navigation not working

Hi, so recently i bought a porsche boxster s and the navigation system does not work. i think its because the wires are cut off as shown in the picture but im not sure because i dont know much about the car yet so i was wondering what the part name is which got cut off.

I hate seeing cases like these...where PO did *SOMETHING*, leaving the next owner to figure out exactly what. Fist thing I see is missing stock amp, and it would appear that the harness is odd as well (hard to tell as for some reason your pic quality is poor). If I may ask, what else isn't working with the audio system?

It does look odd to have a CD Changer and no amp.

Reverse engineering. Look at the option sticker under the frunk lid. Each one of those numbers represents an option. Look each number up. You will be able to tell what the car came with from the factory.

Well, someone removed your factory amplifier, for a start. Considering your model year, it should probably be a HAES 4x40, unless you have the rear speakers. Looks to me like the original wiring.

I recommend that you post a close up of the connector in the front trunk. That will help board members to determine whether the stock amp connector is intact. If it is, it is possible that replacing the stock amp may fix your problem. I have a stock 4X40 amp if you need it.

The listing says that it will fit a 97-04 Boxster. I think that beginning in 03 Boxsters were equipped with a fiber optic system that wasn't compatible with the earlier cars. So I don't think you can rely on the listing.

I have a 2000, so I don't have experience with fiber optic system. I think that amp may work in your car, but I'm hesitant to recommend that someone spend their money when I'm not absolutely sure. I suggest that you contact the seller and determine whether they will take it back if it isn't compatible.

I have a 6 channel amp in my car, but it is out of a 996 so the part number is different. I'll snap a picture tonight and post it.
