ABS/PCM warning

Hello all,
I have a 986 2003 3.2s
The abs/pcm warning has appeared on the dashboard - the diagnostics identified the abs pressure sensor to be the cause so after having created a hard fault to confirm the error I changed the sensor -
The error was eliminated for a couple of days and has returned - it does however vanish if you switch the ignition off then wait, then back on.

It doesn't ever appear whilst driving !

Any ideas?
Change the brake fluid has been suggested , to eliminate any air or contamination -

this is driving me mad - any help appreciated...........

Although no one has replied I changed the brake fluid -
the warnings vanished for a week and are now back - could this be due to the master brake cylinder being warn-

the brake pedal does appear "softer" than in my 986 2.7
