particle, I pulled it out and it looks very silver clean, i tried filing the contact points like some have suggested and did not work. I'm not sure what a cleaner would do since its so clean looking already? still worth getting before I order one? Is it worth ordering a used one or should I just buy new? Thank you for your thoughts.

I changed mine out a few weeks ago and it looked factory new but it was bad. Some people said to get contact cleaner inside but I say toss it out and get a new one. Side note, mine was $159 shipped from Suncoast but if I had to do it again I'd spend another twenty and get it somewhere else. They didn't ship it for three days after I placed the order and paid for it and somehow they found an antique UPS route to get it to me 7 days later.

Yeah thats what I'm leaning towards also Chris. Called advanced auto and they have aftermarket one for $100. Worth aftermarket?

Tough call. Maybe someone else has experience with aftermarket. I guess for a hundred bucks, as easy as they are to change, you could probably roll the dice there.

Wait...I'm confused

Did you take the switch apart, or just clean the wire connector? The contacts are inside the switch (I wouldn't try to take it apart). You should spray contact cleaner inside it and turn the switch several times to clean.

NOT these contacts on the back.

Spray cleaner INSIDE the switch through any open area (probably best to spray down through gap at shaft).
