Out of curiousity, what good is this information? Are you going to drive less? Slower? More conservatively?
Or is it more a test of what gas works better?

I track expenses in my Audi, got in the habit with the other cars. Plus if it says I'm getting 27.6 mpg average per tank in the 986 it tells me I have to drive faster.

I've got Dashcommand, but for tracking mpg is a bit cumbersome. I've used RoadTrip for years, and it is great for MPG and keeping track of scheduled maintenance.
Watching mpg over time, When mileage drops a bit I know I need to check plugs, air filters, tire pressures, etc.

Been using fuelly.com on my iphone for a couple of years on multiple vehicles, their IOS app is damn near perfect.
At this moment I see that my Honda Ridgeline has a lifetime mpg of 16, my Boxster has a lifetime average of 20.7, and my bike is at 38.4.
My project BMW 320i has a lifetime average of 0 since it's hasnt left the garage since I've owned it!

I'm contemplating a longish highway trip and want to get a feeling for what to plan for fuel stops, etc.
also to allow me to keep a running log to satisfy my OCD....
