Windows won't roll down?

2000 Boxter S

Both windows won't roll down or up with controls, they move when you open and close the door.

Is there some safety over ride or anything or am I gonna have to try switches or immobilizer? Is there anything else I may be missing that may be causing this problem?

Mine is the same, check the immobilizer. Mine died due to water ingress but still starts.

found my problem. the fuse at c5 was loose. can't believe the fusebox feels so cheap. the fuse at d1 was nice and snug like it should be. just wiggling the fuse at c5 and the windows started working again...
