Nice car!!

Had two people say nice car yesterday and today a lady loves my car. :)

How often are you complimented? I just dusted it and tire shine and clean rims.

One guy at Shell told me "beautiful car" the other night.
I felt so proud :o

Every time I park the white 01with the 20 inch wheels, in a big parking lot I get a few kids (16-24 year olds) asking all about it. My dirty 99 not so much.

also nice car

Almost every time I drive anywhere in my very small town, I receive compliments and questions about the car. I even took it to a British Car Club meeting this week, as I had renewed my membership just before selling the Jaguar XK8 and buying the Boxster, and received several compliments from the membership in attendance.http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1435446238.jpg

Usually when I am feeling grumpy and it makes my day.

Thu I was at a stoplight in my LE and a crumpled 10 yr old Camry pulls up next to me in the right turn lane. Middle aged guy asks me what yr it is. I said 2008. He says it looks nice. Well yeah, next to your beat up Camry.

Its a pretty regular occurrence for me. Its just not the kind of car you can pick your nose while youre driving it. I can remember reading, a lot, how folks refer to the Boxster as a 'chick car', 'poor mans' 911', 'a hairdressers' car' ect but its usually white males 30s to 40s (my exact demographic) who say something and ask questions (I always find that interesting). I must admit doing a mild cut and buff of a neglected clear coat (I dont think the previous owners ever cut and buffed the car) only made the compliments and looks more regular.

I was told how nice my car looks this evening, only problem it was from a policeman who had just pulled me over for going 47 in a 30. Stupid mistake, car had just warmed up and I wanted to wind it up a little. Good news is he let me off with a warning since I've been ticket free for a good while.

Retroman1969 06-28-2015 04:11 AM

I do get it occasionally, and it makes my day. :)
My favorite reaction is when a client shakes his head and says: "I'm in the wrong end of this business!". I guess not realizing how old it is. ;)

Had a minivan pull next to me a few months back. Kid in passenger seat says mom, mom, look at that car!!!

Well, that's a Porsche. And if you get your grades better and do your homework you can have that too!

I almost said "kid, don't listen to her. I chased girls, got terrible grades, and dropped out of high school most way through 12th grade to hang with my girlfriend. What's your mom or dad driving? "

cardiffgiant 06-28-2015 06:14 AM

Almost every time I drive it :)

I get more call outs with this 17 year old car than I ever did with my bright red SLK. When I tell people I could have bought 3 of these for what I sold my 07' SLK for last summer they just stare.

I get compliments all the time on the car. My favorite story though, is when I had a Dodge Stealth back in the day. Bright red. A guy comes up to me and says....Is it really as fast as they say?" I pointed to the car and said "you mean this?" He says, Yeah the Viper. Is it really that fast? Of course I replied yes, and walked away with a smile on my face because he had no clue.

We were at a really hi dollar wedding recently and they parked our 2001 boxter s next to a 2015 Carrera GT-s fully optioned...The Mercedes amg sl was across the street.

Came out of a restaurant recently and a church group of young men were taking turns standing next to the Box and having their picture taken. They were being very respectful. So, I let them take turns having their picture taken in the driver's seat. Made their day -- and mine.

Was parking at a restaurant/ bar on the lake last week...a bachelorette party was walking in. The bride-to-be yells "omg, I want pictures in that car!!!" I happily obliged!
It was fun, but that's the end of the story..this isn't Dear Penthouse!

Just got my Boxster back on the streets last night after replacing the window regulator and pulling up to a light a guy compliments me on what a nice car. Between driving the Boxster and the Panamera, the compliments are nice but it's that feeling of freedom that really makes my heart sing!:D

I have family in small towns near here and it usually draws quite a bit of attention. In KC, I just get constantly harassed by kids in Hondas or redneck hillbillies in pickups.

It was fun for a while, but I'm the type that doesn't like a lot of attention. The car is currently for sale and will be listed online soon. :)

Just the other day, a street corner advertiser yelled across the street " Nice ride brother".

i was running in our local autocross on Sunday. As I pulled into queue to start my 2nd run, an older gentleman in a seat nearby stated "That is a beautiful car." Hearing that while on an airstrip full of Porsches is something, so I thought it warranted a resurrection of this thread.
