Door card carpet is soaking wet!

I drove my car to work yesterday and it rained all day. I decided to put up the spoiler just for the hell of it and noticed that the carpet on my door below the speaker in soaking wet. The bottom-of-door seal seems fully seated and seems OK but it's hard to tell for certain. I can't imaging where else the water would have come from.

It's just a piece of plastic, on some cars it is tar paper. Sometimes called a vapor barrier
