Nice job, I think it looks good, especially with that interior color, to which I assume it's a pretty close match...

Fantastic! Love that look. You should get the Spyder badges for the front quarter panels, too.

Hmm.. something about that badge strikes me a little weird. I think it's a combination of the numbers being a little too widely spaced, the six being a little smaller than the nine and the eight or crowded by the S or something, and the S being a different color than the other numbers. It just looks imbalanced to me.

But, if you're happy with it, that's all that matters!

really? the 9 and the 6 are the exact same just one is upside down.
This is just the badge from the 968 painted factory seal grey and the S is the stock s from all the Porsche models.
most of my friends either really liked it or really didn't. No in between.
I did space the numbers closer together but the size of the S made it look
lop sided. I've heard similar reactions from 996 owners on 911 vs. Carrera.
I prefer seeing the numbers instead of these catchy names Porsche is trying to build a theme with Carrera, Cayenne, Cayman..

in person new Badge has a much more subltle look than the long BoxsterS script.
That badge always bothered me because I think its a bit distracting. The rear is one of the nicest aspects of the car. I think the numbers gives back more of its deserved real estate. (easier to wax around too).

I think yuo're right--the numbers are all the same size, but the fact that the bottom of the six isn't lined up with the bottom of the eight made it look smaller to me.

I think it would look better if the numbers were a bit closer together and the S weren't crowding the numbers. If you had the S placed maybe like it is in the stock "Boxster S" logo, it'd look more symmetrical to me.

BUT seriously--if you're happy you're happy. There's hardly anything that you can do to a car's aesthetics that isn't going to completely polarize people's opinions.

its visual trickery. I took a piece of blue painters tape to line up the numbers.
and then peeled of the tape to stick on the S. The S makes it look like its pushing it up since its on a curve. But I think 1 in 30 people would even pick that up on first glance.
I'll try lining up the the top of the S with the top of the numbers, but I think it leaves too much space, looks a bit too detached.

Do you think it's feasible to notch out the "S" with a dremel tool so it fits around the "6" like your inspiration "Carrera 4 S" logo?

I agree with Eslai, but also like him, I say if you're happy, that's most important.

Interesting. I didn't know there was a red S available.

Watch out for my 01 2.7L to read: 986SC with an "S" and the "C" from a Carerra or Cayman or Cayenne...when I get my SuperCharger!

Eric from Bumperplugs.com

98Boxster, I think its possible with the dremmel but the margin of error is nil. I'm not that handy with the dremmel. I'd have to order a Back up S.

I think I like it, it'll probably grow on me.

Can i assume the rear deck badge is simply stuck on there and there are no holes? I am considering just removing the boxster logo all together...

New trunk badge, 2022 edition!

The "pig tail" broke off my original badge (2002 base), and it was faded, etc...
Ordered a new one from overseas.....

Came in, good quality product, etc.. BUT, it was a bit smaller than the original.... It was $10.00 or so plus about $2.00 ship

I put in in a drawer since about March, but I was bored, and the faded/broken emblem was driving me crazy, so I put it on yesterday.

Opinions? (hopefully not too harsh!)

Its about 1" to 2" less lenghwise, and about 1/2" less height-wise.

All in all, I don't think its that much noticeable...
(at least i didn't put an "S/GT3/Turbo/Carrera" badge on it!!
