Need Help

My coolant tank apparently has a leak since I have a puddle under my trunk carpet. My question is, has anyone purchased the tanks I see for $68 at carparts.com and are they any good? Where would you recommend buying the part from? I already replaced the cap since it had the old style but the dealer here in Indy charges $50 for the cap so don't want to buy tank from them since they are SO overpriced.

I purchased the OEM part so can't help you on the one you mentioned. All I can say is it's a kind of 'no fun' DYI. I wouldn't want to have to do it again.

I bought mine off of EBAY which was a couple hundred if I recall - coming out of China or something like that. It fit perfectly and had it in my car now for 3 years and no issues at all. That leak is a common thing that most cars go through I found - Porsche should have made it a recall as the crack seems to happen in the exact same spot for everyone. Good luck.

Hmmmm. Sounds like another part that tends to fail, only this one blows up the engine. I'd rather see a recall on the IMS.
