In defense, I've seen some amazing "kit cars", Think of Charlie Beck and his Porsche Speedster, 550 and 904 replicas. I went to his shop in the late 80's and he lit my hair on fire from the passenger seat in one of his cars.

But the market for a Factory Five GTM is probably petty limited. More power to him if he can get what he's wanting from it.
I agree, the Beck Spyder, some of the Cobra and GT 40 replicas and other "kits" are pretty awesome, especially when a lot of care and thought goes into the selections made by the person building it. That's why I don't understand trying to sell on Craigslist, vs Bring A Trailer.

Rick, I don't think you have one of these yet. I'm pretty sure it's Orient Red. Sounds like it needs a little TLC, but that color is hard to find. Stop by on your way and I can give you a deal on an almost new top (plastic window).

Incomplete collection?

I'll bet you a dollar that color is Zanzibar Red, aka Tomato Soup Red, and its an absolutely stunning color. But either Orient Red or Zanzibar Red, they're one of the few colors I don't have that I'd really like. Dammit Jon! Now you have my gears turning... It'd just take a few minutes to call him, ask about the car and get a color code... and it's project car price, and I can get to Nixa in about 5 hours, and it's just south of Springfeild, and I have a little honey of a nurse I know in Springfield, and... and... and...

Stand by...

Zanzibar! Yes, I'm bad at guessing those rare colors. All my cars are Silver/Grey, Black and White. The neighbors might notice how many cars I have in the driveway and complain if I had the bright colors.

I believe Zanzibar red has metalic in it.

Yes. Both Orient Red and Zanzibar Red are metallic.
