FOR PARTS A CLEAN 2001 PORSCHE BOXSTER S 3.2 STANDARD 99K MILES

Do you think that was enough of a hit to discharge the passenger door airbag? I'm looking for one of that vintage and can't tell from the pics if it's good or not. ;)

Sure hope there wasn't a passenger along for the ride. That thing had to be going pretty fast sideways before it wrapped around a tree / pole.

That was my first question: What parts??

Passenger side sun visor, windshield wipers, windshield, windshield trim, maybe some electrical items from the dash, brake calipers, wheels, handbrake handle?

I hope there wasn't a driver or a passenger in that car when it got hit!

2002 Boxster S tiptronic

Here is a 2002 Boxster S tiptronic with 83k miles for $5,000, in Suffern, NY - maybe worth a look?

Not mine, no relation to seller, etc.

I recognize the scams for bicycles and things like real exotic or newer cars better, but this one almost seemed reasonable!

I'm sure the cold start issue has nothing to do with the "dinged up a bit" front. Maybe the battery is getting weak.

Someone needs to get that man a dictionary!

Burg Boxster 01-09-2016 12:20 PM

LOL - based on tree limb across cowel, me suspects that was scene of "ding-ing up a bit". :D

husker boxster 01-09-2016 02:47 PM

To be honest, it is cold today - single digits & 25mph wind producing -25 deg wind chill.

2000 Porche Boxter!
I was just about to post this yesterday. Before I clicked 'post', I decided to check it out.

Long story short: It probably wasn't worth the $4,500, so I got it for a bit less.
- 90% certain the oil leak is AOS
- Steering rack leak
- Cheap knock off wheels
- Burnt headlights
- Body & paint 3/10 (Hood impact to windshield damage and bad paint job)
- Interior 5/10
- Starter squeal

Its going to be a spring project. Maybe do a Woody style buildŽ, or maybe just clean it up.

Always love hearing about cheap finds because of a bad AOS. I got one at an auction that was a dealer trying to pass off what they thought was a car with a bad engine. I don't feel too sorry for people who think their boxster is shot because of a bad AOS. Five minute google search will tell you what's wrong.

Retroman1969 02-04-2016 04:00 AM

Congrats! That's a great little snag for less than $4500! Hopefully it will be easy to put back in shape. :)

Not quite a Boxster, but still looks like it might be a fun ride.

71 Roadrunner

"All numbers match VIN from cowl to radiator support."
Next sentence:
"This is a rolling chassis vehicle. No motor."
No interior, wrong hood.
"True, straight survivor."

At least he has all the buzz words included. Too bad he doesn't know what they mean.

Better read this one quick before it gets taken down. Be sure to look at all of the pics.

Looking at the pics - especially the rear quarter one taken @ the Hilton Hotel - I'll think I'll pass.
I bet the car can tell a few tales....

husker boxster 02-14-2016 12:40 PM

Yeah, makes me want to disinfect the leather seats.
