Talk about Garage Queen! I wouldn't touch this, especially not for what they're asking.

If I had the extra cash, and garage space, I'd certainly consider this example for my collection as it "looks to be" a primo example of the first gen Boxster, produced in the best year (IMHO) and in a desirable color. I agree that the price is a little high, but the car has been on the lot for quite a while, so it may be negotiated successfully.
But..........it's in Erie, PA, close to the Lake, and reportedly a California car. The embedded video shows a nice walkaround, but that shot of the engine bay is definitely NOT of a Boxster. In fact, it's from a front-engine car!
So immediately, the seller's integrity comes into question.
JBauer mentioned BAT, but even on that website, the seller is vetted, and about 100-200 pics are posted, as well as startup and driving videos.
A shame really..........looks like a great Box.
Just sayin'........

My memory is fading, but hasn't this car been up for sale several times in the Northeast? Seems one similar to this was for sale in the NY area a few yrs ago. Don't remember the yr, but it was ultra low miles and this color red. Can't be too many of them around fitting this description. Maybe she's just being passed around from dealer to dealer, each one hoping to make some bucks, which would be sad.
But like they say on the auction broadcasts when an ultra low mi car crosses the block - do you now drive it or continue to preserve it? Obviously it would take a lot of $$$ and work to get this one road worthy, so leaving her as a show pony would be less expensive (after shelling out big $$$ for the purchase). Who would want to buy a "new" 986 when there are plenty of other fine examples available? Or you could continue to preserve it. But is a Boxster a museum piece? Certainly in our eyes but we're jaded (ask the guy in CT who wants to buy a 996). The only thing that makes this one unique is the ultra low miles. So what?

What a hoot! You can even see some off-white quarter panel in the vid.
The engine cover is emblazoned with "Honda"!

Agreed that it is a decent deal considering what has been done, but would need to be wrapped instantly.

Might get lucky and that "customized" airbrushing may wet sand and buff off.

Craigslist isn't what it use to be down here in Texas. Facebook groups or marketplace seems to be the place to find the deals now. I got this factory GT3 front bumper cover for $300 on one of the porsche group's page. The guy selling it thought it was a 03/04 bumper cover

Is that a 996.1 (early 996 aerokit) or 996.2 GT3 cover?
Either way, I'm jealous.
