If you look around you can find quite a few 'S' models on Craigslist that aren't quite an S. I suppose if you stick enough S's on it an uneducated buyer won't know any better.

Here's a 1999 Boxster S. Looks like an S, maybe they got the year wrong:

Here's a 02 Boxter S "sport edition". The Sport edition S comes with a 5-speed (and 2.7). ;)

I was offered $5,000 for my stove!

But, he then said he wanted a check for $3,000 back and I could keep the change. Wrong check sent to me with my name on it.

I love to F with scammers. When they come at me with that scam, I tell them that was the agreed upon price. I must have been put on the scammers "no scam list" because I never get any attempts anymore. I kind of miss them. :(

Here's a site I used to go to. No affiliation. I gave a CL scammer the FBI internet fraud direct line as my personal phone number once. Never heard back from them??

This is a pretty nice boxster with quite low miles.

However I've seen 987 S cars for less.

Porsche Carrera/Boxter headlights

$750 for a pair of ambered headlights... Really??

BIGJake111 07-08-2015 08:15 PM

I love playing the S or not an S game.

Any time I look through Craigslist I look for cars listed as an S that are posers, (every now and then you'll find a boxster spyder 1997 or a boxster s 1998 model lol.)

Anyways the car in the link has me stumped on if it's an S or not!

thstone 07-08-2015 08:50 PM

It's an S model.

The key is the VIN: WP0CB2980YU660720

Character 5 (from left) will be an "A" for a base model or a "B" for an S model.

I forgot to check the vin. I guess the new question is, why does it have a 4 spoke?

I've seen other S models with 4 spoke wheels. Must have been the standard in the early years.

You never know what might turn up at a yard sale. I snagged these clear '03 headlights yesterday for $75. The seller had replaced the headlights in a friend's Boxster because they were a little fogged where the bra had rubbed on them. These were pretty much considered junk.
Real nice guy, actually drove over an hour to deliver them to me for a few extra $.

2002 porsche Baxter

I think this has to be the worse spelling for a Porsche boxster. I understand that maybe someone had a typo and might leave out a letter on either Porsche or boxster. It happens to all of us, but spelling it "baxter" twice?!? It says "BOXSTER" right there on the trunk.

"Real nice car drivers good."

Maybe English isn't their first language.... But boxster is boxster in any language. The quickest turn off for an ad is anything like that.

Well this doesn't have an add. But it is a really interesting Porsche for sure.

350 or 370 not sure. But yes. It is fairly well done, so I would think it would look a lot better if they chose the same brand for the front and back haha.

Not a fan of the front or rear. But the side profile is actually pretty sexy.

There are many worst color combinations out there, it's not half bad!

Well at least it is an Actual S model by the VIN number.
For $24,400 it comes with the floor mats actually "installed in the car" and a key ring!
Wow, this one won't last long.

The colors are fine to my eyes, but the lines just don't work for me. Maybe my old buddy Starsky would be interested in it though.

On these cars, it is so hard to pick out the emblem on the front hood. I am glad the owner fixed that!
