A quick drive over the speed bumps on my road would soon strip all that crap off the bottom of the car!

I have nothing against the base but if you're going to do all sorts of aftermarket crap to the car to make it look fast, why not start with the faster car to begin with. 9/10 times someone majorly modifies these cars *in an untasteful way* it's an automatic base model. It's the equivalent of buying a v6 mustang and putting hood pins on it, but even worse because excessive modification looks better on muscle cars then these.

Are you saying I can't mod my car if it's a base? That's just silly.
Most of the crap I come across are S models and I'm sorry to burst your bubble, but they're not that much faster. Drive them back to back and you'll see. Most of it is in your head. |

Agree. 0-60 times are not that different - and depending on the driver - a good driver can get the base model to 60 faster than a rookie can get an 'S' to 60.

And top speed? Virtually the same - about 5 MPH difference.

Heck, the 0-60 times in the newest Boxster - base with PDK is the same to 60 as an S with manual.

The reason it "always" is a base is that the guys who spent their money on an S are broke. The guys that bought a base have an extra $3 - $5k burning a hole in their pocket. PW and Giller are right, they are virtually the same car when driven well. Only fractions of seconds apart. S is a little faster off of the line but that's where it ends especially in "street rod" driving.

A lot of work went into moving the dash, steering column, master cylinder, center console and PDK shifter. FUGLY, but like a car wreck I can't look away...

How could you have something that unique and totally ignore the obvious in the description? I read that eye sore of a description twice to be sure I didn't miss anything about the unique seating arrangement.
