Yes storage.....for cars that have no door speakers. At least it was on my 00.

Its only 100 away from me! Just what I need. Some days I don't even want to work on my car...why the heck get another one?

If it's actually arena red (looks like it in the pics), I'm willing to work something out with you. PM me if interested.

Not for my Porsche, but I got OEM Subaru (Yakima) ski racks for $20 on CL this weekend.

PaulE 02-27-2017 05:21 AM

A 997 C4S with just 11,000 miles for $32,500. Looks great in the first picture, then you find out there is some assembly required and a salvage title. How do you know all the parts are included?

If that is too much, there is also this 930 slant nose VW Beetle that needs finishing.

lol That first picture is MySpace angles.

She looks good at first, but then... ice berg!

Last weekend I picked up a "boxter" hardtop for $250!

It was the strangest transaction ever - actual Seller ended up being a doctor who had a really nice house, multiple expensive air cooled Porshes (including an aircooled turbo), and so just didn't want to deal with people off Craigslist. But the person I had to cooridnate the transaction with apparently was hired to sell some of his stuff but couldn't transport the top (wouldn't fit in her SUV), so I had to pick it up. I had to take a ferry ride to get it, but it was very enjoyable trip! The top was encrusted with years of grime, but washed up nicely...
http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1488219088.jpg

As you can, see just two days later, I'm putting it to very good use! (This car is daily driven and parked outdoors):
http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1488218968.jpg

Although my main motivation for picking up the top was purely for practical reasons, (the color ocean blue metallic is not a completely perfect color match to my car's lapis blue) I am surprised to like the way it looks as much as I do!

I still need to pick up a set of spinlock adapters to get it properly mounted, so if anyone has a used set of those they could sell to me (without completely breaking the bank on this $250-top :o ) please let me know!

PaulE 02-27-2017 10:10 AM

Nice score, looks like you even got the matching color! You should get the spinlocks asap if that is your daily driver, bumps and body flex while you drive I think you'll want to make sure it is secured all around front and back.

Well from your pictures it looks like the same color, just read it is different though!

RedTele58 02-27-2017 10:48 AM

jakeru - that's a sweet aerokit car. Aerokit is my favorite option for a Boxster.

2010 Porsche Boxster at John Lee Nissan in Panama City FL

Sorry, not CL but had to share this local car. No affiliation.

This car was for sale at same dealership last winter. I looked at it a couple of times and was very close to making an offer. It had one Carfax accident listed but I sure couldn't fine any signs of it.

Turns out a sales dude bought the car and put a whole 1,000 miles on it last year. One of the miles included bumping it something. There is a mark on the front bumper...I'd guess a few hundred to make right.

The car is not perfect...no records to be found but looks very good and is pretty cheap for a 2010.
I offered $16K but didn't get a response....Low offer but why not? I've got three in college so I'm not in the best position to buy anything that isn't a complete bargain.

I think the car would be an absolute steal at $17-18K. Hope it goes to a good home!

$3,000 hardtop that comes with a beat up but running Boxster under it:

Sorry it's not a Porsche but a super cheap German Turbo V8 in a 90s Benz and disguised as just a regular inline 6 from the pictures

Anyone have some bitcoin laying around?

2012 Porsche Cayman S Coupe (2 door) | used cars & trucks | Oakville / Halton Region | Kijiji

edit: looks like the owner changed the ad. Originally said only bitcoin accepted, no cash lol

Well it's located in Canada, so does the seller want US$ 64,000 or Cdn$ 64,000 worth of bitcoin?

boxxster 03-13-2017 12:02 PM

The ad says he wants 45 bitcoin, which works out to about 75K CDN. A new 718 Cayman S starts at 75k up here.

Thanks, I'm not up on bitcoin, I saw 45 BTC - bitcoin accepted and had no idea what the 45 BTC meant. The top of the ad also says $64.000. At today's exchange rate, US$64,000 works out to a little over 51 bitcoin. That's too much for a 2012 Cayman S down here too!

Uh... Sorta... Kinda... Not really...

They are usually called lobster claw wheels. Sometimes I hear lobster fork.
Shrimp fork is a new one, but you're (kinda) in the ballpark. :D

Major smoke.

Engine has new everything but I think AOS has gone bad because it went from no smoke to major smoke literally overnight.. Probably something simple. This is a strong running car that has had IMS bearing upgrades and doesn't need that much work. I will also consider parting out
Suuuuure, it's the simple AOS. That's why you're willing to part out a car that needs something simple, right?
