Will an AC/Heater Controller from a 2002 fit in a 1999 Boxster?

They look exactly the same (from the front) but the part numbers are slightly different. Mine is 99665310103 and the replacement I'm considering is 99665310106

probably not.
the electrical system was changed in 2000.

I have used this eBay seller for parts several times. Great prices and honest. Here is your unit (996.653.101.03).
