How many Boxster do you see a week?

I live in Oklahoma City area and work all around the metro. I drive an average of 600 miles a week and see roughly 10-12 boxsters a week. I've only seen the same one 3 times. And I think it's Retroman lol.

So, how about the rest of you? See many 986's? More 911's?

KRAM36 02-02-2015 04:51 PM

Very rarely see a Boxster, Cayman or 911 around my area. Makes me feel good. I do see quite a few Cayennes though.

litespeedp 02-02-2015 04:54 PM

In our small town of about 200,000 I see way more 911's and Cayenne's.Maybe only 1-2 Boxsters a week.

Pdwight 02-02-2015 05:31 PM

Small town here too

About 60K in North West Alabama, about 6 Boxsters that I see from time to time...but not too common. I actually see more 911's and Carrera's than I do Boxster......even a Carrera GT here in this town.

JayG 02-02-2015 05:53 PM

in San Diego, too many to keep track of
Lots of other P-Cars as well
911's and lots of Cayennes and tons of Panameras as well

steved0x 02-02-2015 06:31 PM

I saw a 986 drive by the other day as I was standing in the Winn Dixie parking lot. I thought I had identified all the regular ones in town and this one was new. I see the "regular" ones maybe 1-2 times a month.

BIGJake111 02-02-2015 06:33 PM

Depends on if I go into town or not, usually a cayanne or two on the highway. Get near whole foods and such and the 911s and panameras are all over, boxsters and caymans are actually the most rare porsches I see. There is an old air cooled white late 70s 911 i run into.

Other than that, just a few boxsters in the area I run into from time to time, supposedly there is a 22 or so year old with a speed yellow 986, really wanting to have a run in with her sometime.

Dzl210 02-02-2015 06:33 PM

Seattle/Tacoma I only see a handful of Porsches, maybe seen 4-5 other 986/987s.

particlewave 02-02-2015 06:39 PM

0. None. I've seen a 996 around, but the last time was a couple years ago. Maybe 2 or 3 Cayennes...

It's nice having the only Porsche around here. She's a real attention whore :p
(BTW, I'm not in KC...lots of Porsches there)

CraigM 02-02-2015 07:46 PM

About 0.25/week in Arlington...includes all generations.

Fintro11 02-02-2015 08:12 PM

for living on Vancouver Island, I see a lot. lots of 911, boxsters, cayenne's and 944's.

Nine8Six 02-02-2015 08:18 PM

known of 986 i.e. registered imports in China (less the smuggled ones).

21 (twenty-one only). When I see one I go crazy lol

(collector's choice already here)

thstone 02-02-2015 08:20 PM

Too many to count. There are a lot of them around.

RedTele58 02-02-2015 08:24 PM

When I'm in my garage or shop, I'll see six of them.

Running around town, I might see one or two others a week.

I pretty well have the Boxster market in my part of the world.

Retroman1969 02-02-2015 08:52 PM

LOL, criss-crossing central OK, 600-800 miles a week, I wouldn't be surprised if I turned up multiple times. ;)
Yeah, I'd say 8-12 a week of 986 and 987s.
The 981, maybe 2-3.
I do seem to see more 911s than Boxsters. 4-5 a day.
Cayennes are of course all over, and even Panameras are getting more common.
Cayman seems to be the most rare spotting, but will still see 1-3 a week.

I'd be willing to bet that Redboxs is one of the ones I see almost daily.

Porsche9 02-02-2015 09:13 PM

About a couple a week.

linklaw 02-03-2015 02:59 AM

In Pittsburgh, I saw one two weeks ago. In the winter they are very scarce on the roads. In summer, I see 5 or 6 a week.

BIGJake111 02-03-2015 03:22 AM

I've noticed that there are virtually no 987 cars around here.

CHRISP357 02-03-2015 04:46 AM

Haven't seen another one in months although there is a forum member in my town who uses his as a daily driver. I just haven't come across him yet.

In rural western PA, I have seen one other boxster in the 6 months that i have lived here. It was on a used car sales lot for around $15k. I feel like a freak of nature but at the same time, I want to trade it in for a Lotus. I don't know why, I just really want a Lotus for some reason.

It is a great feeling, isn't it. When I was stationed in Korea, I was 1 of 4 Mitsu Evo VIII's in the country. Sometimes it was so easy to find where I parked; it was where the crowd of people where. Evo 8 + white + fluent in Korean = fun times.....

jsceash 02-03-2015 05:35 AM

Right now I see 1. It's in my garage on my lift. Been there since before Thanksgiving. Normally in the spring summer and fall there are 3 in my neighborhood, and maybe 6 in the small town near me (Dillsburg). I'd say I see 1, 986 and 1, 987 every day when its warm. On a good day maybe 4-5.

I live in an area multiple Porsche dealers 1- 15 miles (Mechanicsburg Porsche Audi), 1- 40 miles (******************************** Lancaster) 2- 80 miles (Porsche Tyson Corners, Knopf Automotive) 4-more around 110miles (Arlington Porsche, Porsche Cochacken, Mainline Porsche, Bucks County Porsche)

Anyone know why the site prevents writing a dealership name Auto-haus

OklahomaBoxster 02-03-2015 05:37 AM

South OKC/Moore area. Theres a few Boxsters, countless cayennes, a few 996's, a 991, and I've also seen like 1 964 911. Theres a black 987, several silver 986.1's, 2 yellow 986's, a red 986, and thats about all I can think of. I don't see them too often.

OklahomaBoxster 02-03-2015 05:43 AM

But I definitely do feel like I've got something special. There's more P-cars out there than you think, but you really have to look for them. Most of them aren't daily driven like I daily drive mine. the only thing that sucks is not being the only Porsche at your highschool. Of course there was a white 981 before I got my 986:(

SJEFFB986 02-03-2015 06:06 AM

I'm not on the road too often but here in Chester County PA I see maybe 1 or 2 Boxsters per month on my back and forth route to work (40 miles roundtrip) and on the occasional weekend drives.

More 911's than Boxsters. What still amazes me is the timeless design of Boxsters and 911's. Especially the early generations. Every time I see a Boxster or 911 I'm drawn to follow with my eyes till it's gone.

even having a Porsche in High School sucks????
:ah:

desert_porsche 02-03-2015 07:35 AM

I probably see one other 986, one 996, and three or four late model Porsches a week. I very rarely see 987 or 997.

I live in Moore. So, the red one was probably me. I havn't seen another red 986. :D

I've got a red one! It'd be cool to meet up sometime

Box4two 02-03-2015 10:51 AM

My office is smack downtown Toronto in the financial district. I'm amazed at the amount of Boxters and P-cars in general in the winter......and in the summer, I counted 12 one day while outside having lunch. From my parking spot at work i can usually see at least 3 Boxters, 2-3 Caymans and another 3-4 911s i don't even count the flurry of Cayennes!

Redboxs 02-03-2015 01:46 PM

If I am working in Edmond (an upper income suburb) I usually see at least 5 or 6 p-cars. Maybe a Lamborghini, almost always a Maserati or two. I saw a Mclaren last week. It's strange, yesterday I saw two P-cars (a 987 and a 981). Today.. none. Well, unless you count mine in the garage :p

Retroman1969 02-03-2015 08:42 PM

So one of you guys is the red Boxster I see occasionally. (maybe both).
And who owns the mango orange 987 with the black wheels and top that I see floating around NW OKC? It's definitely unique looking.

I even saw a black 993 Monday cruising in the Deer Creek area. That's probably only the third one of those I've ever seen in person.

Did you happen to be stopped on the side of the highway a month and a little bit ago? Saw a red 986 on the I-35 shoulder near the Indian hills road overpass

Lol! Yes. That was when my driver side axle came off after eurosport replaced my clutch. That was a bad day.

My three favorite local p cars. Had to grab pics of all 3. The top two are owned by the same guy. Sadly I only see the Carrera gt at shows and in the service lane, seems reliability isn't perfect.

dghii 02-04-2015 04:15 PM

There are a few in our little town. I notice the cars but I'm not surprised when I do.

Heck three of the local Boxster are ones I've sold to buds!
