Wire mesh deflectors for head rest
Does anybody know for sure if the mesh deflectors off a 2003 986 are exactly the same and would fit a 1998 986
Thanks
Edited because incorrect year originally entered

Just FYI, they're plastic and losable / stealable. Some of us use a zip tie to secure them. Do a search...

Thanks kJc2050,
So I just realised that Porsche sell these plastic inserts for ridiculous prices. For that price you'd think that they'd be at least wire mesh like car grills have.
Sad really that such a prestigious car manufacturer would allow such a cheap product on their cars. I thinks dr. Ferdinand would be spinning in his grave. 👎 shame Porsche shame

They're a) decorative and b) intended to serve as wind restrictors; being made of metal isn't necessary for their function, would needlessly add weight, and might introduce a safety issue if one became airborne in an accident. So, I guess I disagree with you.
One thing that most of us can agree upon: Porsche isn't especially well known for its low prices - on its cars and replacement parts.

If you really want to deflect the wind, a full width, after-market ,plexiglass windshield is more effective.

True. read that not long ago. The more boxed in you are e.g full-width deflector + windows up, more comfortable you'll be
Jon - I've read member Amagala selling a full kit not long ago. I bet his bundle price is cheaper than the Genuine P Part for one meshed hoop (left side lol). Luck with the find

Thanks Fred,
The price he's asking is indeed very reasonable, and I have already spoken to him about it, unfortunately I won't need the Perspex part, as I am buying something called a skybreaker or something to that effect which I am led to believe is all the rage now . So I really only need the mesh inserts lol
But thanks for thinking about me

Yeh had a look at those so ugly in my opinion.
Besides this isn't really about the wind, this is about looks. Same reason women paint their faces ummm to make them prettier than they already are that is
