You must be a T-Mobile user. Verizon dumped the last of its unlimited plans 5 years ago and now only 20% have been granted unlimited data. AT&T, who just got fined for throttling unlimited users, got rid of theirs 3 years ago and now less than 40% are allowed unlimited data. Sprint has unlimited data for $60 but only useful if you can actually get signal in your area. If AT&T are making an exception for free connection of unlimited data to CarPlay I would be surprised if they keep that up for long after the big FCC fine. AT&T are going to have to come up with a new way to get more dough out of that 40%. T-Mobile on the other hand seem to be catering to unlimited users to lock up market share.

I use Sprint. I have never had an issue getting a good signal and I travel all over the country.

One thing that irritated me about the Pioneer is that if you want to use App Radio, you need to use USB1 and the HDMI input. If you want to use Car Play than you also have to use USB1 but not the HDMI.

Since I did not want a bunch of cables hanging out of my dash (there is also USB2 and Aux), I got a couple of adapters and mounted them in my cubby.

Here are a couple of pics.

JPC - I love the look of a) the bezel surrounding the unit and b) the fact that you’ve managed to incorporate the USB dock into the back of your cubby. Are you able to direct me to somewhere I can buy the former (can’t find anywhere on the internet! Is there a part number for this retrofit option)? Did you punch a hole in the cubby yourself? If so, any advice? If not, is there somewhere I can purchase one?

Many many thanks in advance!

This isn’t a dual one but I have one like this but I never installed it.

Thanks for the compliment! The bezel was part of the install package I got when buying the unit from Crutchfield. For the cubby, I did cut the holes myself. I used a "hole bit" for my drill I picked up at Harbor Freight. Same type of bit you use when cutting a door knob hole. The usb and aux plugs are available on eBay.
