Stripes

So, I know how asking for opinions goes, but what do you guys think of martini stripes on a red car? (5 min photoshop job)http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1419826167.jpg

KRAM36 12-28-2014 07:17 PM

As for my opinion.....No

Nine8Six 12-28-2014 07:23 PM

Dig what you have in mind. Just a quick eye... could look all right if limited to the hood only. Sort of how this guy did to his...

Unfortunately black stripes would be the only (safe) balanced color for the red Porsche. White is the other one but many pcars with white stripes somehow end up looking like a mini cooper more than anything else :/

I think Martini stripes goes well with red... after all lol

I think they look good on a red Boxster, perhaps if you had a hardtop to continue unbroken stripes over and down the trunk lid
Check out info@magnagrafik.com. They used to do magnetic removable Martini stripes, have a look at the gallery photos.

Not really my cup of tea, however I'm of the mindset, it's your car so what you like. I would keep it to the hood only.

coreseller 12-29-2014 05:45 AM

Looks like a Smurf drove over it. Never been a fan of stripes, less is more.

My opinion, you asked for it, do what YOU like, it's YOUR car.......

NO! Can't improve on the solid red. I don't care if it is your car, NO ;)!

ugatha 12-29-2014 06:04 AM

My opinion - No. Like painting a mustache on the Mona Lisa.

I think the stripes don't look half bad! I personally wouldnt do the front to back, maybe somewhere smaller? Top of of the fender where it meets the hood to the wheel on a bit of an angle? :D

thstone 12-29-2014 08:35 AM

I like the Martini stripes. Look at as many cars as you can find online to get an idea of how to get the look that you like.

And Nine8Six, thanks for the pic! We all needed a little splash of life this morning! :)

OKCShooter 01-06-2015 07:22 PM

I think a 911 can get away with it, but not a boxster.
