Help with AC relocation to upper lower center console

Hi,

I would like to install a double dinn stereo into my 2001 Boxster, but before I start with that, i'll need to relocate the AC controls to the lower console.
I have seen other do this and relocate it to the lowest section (usually taken up by the storage caddy), but i would like to move it to the slot above that where the 4xCD dispenser is.
Has this been done before and are there instructions of how to go about doing it.

Here's a video, part of which might be of interest: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o1qVVhkQmVw
You can also Google this to find a lot of stuff: porsche 996 climate control relocation , since the 996 and 986 are identical.

I actually did the opposite. My climate control was at the bottom, with the useless cup holders on top, then radio followed by more useless cassette holders . I moved the control to the top, radio to the second from bottom and purchased two storage bins for the other spaces. Nice this setup is modular and can accommodate any number of combinations. It is not difficult to do, so have at it.

I have moved both radio and HVAC to the lower slots. I found the dual OEM cup holders to go in place of the HVAC controls to finish off the look.

If/when you do move it to the bottom, know that the wiring MUST go down the right side of the center stack (LHD). It may seem easier down the left side, but you will use bad words after a while.
