It was a tiny bit bigger than the oem hood badge made it a real struggle with the gasket >.< http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1416612934.jpg

You're supposed to soak the gasket in hot water prior to installing it to make it slightly larger and more pliable. Doing it cold would indeed be difficult.

Cool.

I bought a reconditioned silver crest on eBay for $80.
Big mistake..
Did not come with hardware or gasket. Bought one on Pelican for $20. Did not fit. Bought another from automtion also did not fit perfectly. Pegs broke on crest. Trip to home Depot for jb qwick weld. After two month red and blacks have washed away and silver looks duller than the old crest.

Did that, my oem crest fit perfect with the gasket, this one I had to pry a lot with a toothpick

Black & brushed nickel crest installed

I has to use my original gasket as I could not stretch the gasket that came with the crest enough to make it fit. Pleased with the look of the new crest as it gives the car a bit of 'outlaw' look to it. Here are two pics.

Steve, as recommended on this list go to:

HOLIDAY SPECIAL - Reduced Pricing on Custom Refinished Hood Crests! - Rennlist Discussion Forums

I ordered the middle one pictured. A bit pricey but I treated myself for the holidays. Both wife and I really like the look. Check them out.

I almost bought one from him last year when he was selling them on eBay but the brushed nickel was the one I really liked, and it was $199. I think I am going to get one now that he is running them on special... thanks for the heads up!

I don't think you will be disappointed. Pretty nice piece. Post a pic if you do it.
